Poppy Time Machine

While photographing WWII Veteran Fred Andrews for the "Honour" project, he showed me a photo of himself as a young soldier and a pressed poppy that he picked up in Flanders Field at war's end. He was there when the news came that the war had ended, and the soldiers stopped shooting.

At that moment he looked down and picked the poppy, put in in a cellophane wrap from a chocolate bar and sent it to his mother. When she passed a way, he found it in her Bible.
